Another PSN server outage is being reported by fans today, with Sony providing the latest updates on its PlayStation Network server status issues.

And as confirmed by the tech company, most of the major online and multiplayer services typically available on PS4 and PS5 consoles are offline.

It’s unclear what caused today’s outage, or how long it might last across all platforms.

Here are the latest details shared by Sony regarding the April 13 PSN server network outage.

PSN servers are down on PS4 and PS5 consoles

Sony has confirmed that most of the basic online services provided by the PlayStation Network are down tonight. No ETA has been given on resuming regular service, nor do we know why the PSN servers are down tonight. Here are Sony’s latest statements regarding the current PlayStation Network issues:

“You may be having trouble launching games, apps, or network features. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

Players on PS4 and PS5 consoles are also reporting an issue that ends with a ws-37469-9 error message. Here is the official explanation of this error message and what it could mean:

WS-37469-9 – Means Failed to connect to server.

  • Check the PlayStation Network status page.
  • Turn off your router, wait at least 5 minutes, then restart it. Please try again later.

None of the solutions listed will help resolve tonight’s issues, as these are almost certainly internal PlayStation Network issues. Based on the thousands of reports received, tonight’s PSN server health issues are part of a major outage that may last longer than usual.
