How to Fix Network Security Key Mismatch Error on Windows 11

A wireless connection is a blessing, but sometimes you may encounter errors when connecting to a connection. This tutorial will address one such error and show you how to fix Network Security Key Mismatch error on Windows 11 computers. This problem can be easily solved, and there are different ways to try to fix the problem, and you can see which works for you.
Fix Network Security Key Mismatch Error
This error occurs when you try to connect to a Wi-Fi connection. It is possible that you have recently changed the security type like WPA, WPA2, WEP, etc. Changing the security can cause this error, so you can’t connect to the network you were used to.
Fix Network Security Key Mismatch Error by Restarting
This is what each of us faces with a connectivity problem. This is the first step that very often fixes the error you might be facing. If the router cannot automatically update the security change, you may get this error. Restart your router and see if that fixes the problem.
I also suggest restarting your PC while your router connects.
Forget the network
If restarting doesn’t fix the problem, you can always forget the network you’re trying to connect to and then reconnect adding the password details. You can do this in different ways on Windows 11, but I’ll show you the fastest way to forget a network and then reconnect.
Step 1: On your desktop taskbar, click the Wireless icon. (You’ll notice that unlike Windows 10, you can no longer click the icon alone. You’ll also select two other icons with it.)
2nd step: When the drop-down menu opens, click the Wireless icon.
Step 3: Right-click on the Wi-Fi connection you are trying to connect to and select To forget.
Step 4: Follow now steps 1-2 again.
Step-5: Click on the connection you want to connect and select Connect.
Step-6: Enter the security key and click following.
Fix Network Security Key Mismatch Error by Resetting TCP/IP
You may need to release and renew TCP/IP to resolve the issue. Before doing this, make sure to create a system restore point.
Step 1: Click on the search icon in the taskbar and type ordered.
2nd step: To select Execute as administrator.
Step 3: You will be interrogated Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? To select Yes.
Step 4: Type the following command and press Enter:
netsh int ip reset
This will reset the IP

If you want to reset a log file, as well as an IP address, use the following command and press Enter:
netsh int ip reset resettcpip.txt
If you use a IPv4use this command and press Enter:
netsh int ipv4 reset
If you use IPv6, use the following command and press Enter:
netsh int ipv6 reset
Reset network settings
You can also reset your network settings:
- Click on the the Windows icon in the taskbar and click on the icon Settings tooth.
- Click on Network & Internet in the left pane.
- To select Advanced network settings option.
- Click on the Network Reset option.
- To select reset now.
- Click on Yes for confirmation.
Restore router settings
If this error occurred after you changed the security settings, I suggest you revert to your original settings. This can also resolve the error if none of the above mentioned methods worked.
